Did you know that Claremont is home to an incredibly talented company of rising stage actors? The Inland Valley Repertory Theater (IVRT) was founded in 1990 and has been the home of aspiring actors and actresses for 24 years. The IVRT’s first production “Side By Side BY Sondheim” debuted at the Alta Loma High School Theater, featuring local celebrity Nedra Volz. The IVRT also performed at Chaffey College, Claremont High School, Upland Elementary School, the Claremont School of Theology and the University of La Verne before finding a permanent home at the Candlelight Pavilion in Claremont. I am going to be very straight-forward here. No overly-dramatic, wordy fluff. Simply stated, I am a huge fan of Jonathan Bates. I have been for many years. I was first introduced to his work when he was the front man of the Los Angeles based rock band Mellowdrone. Their first EP and full-length album “Box” were a permanent fixture in my music rotation. After the release of their last album “Angry Bear”, Jonathan, along with his band mates, Tony DeMatteo and Brian Borg, had decided it was time to take a break.
