Did you know that Claremont is home to an incredibly talented company of rising stage actors? The Inland Valley Repertory Theater (IVRT) was founded in 1990 and has been the home of aspiring actors and actresses for 24 years. The IVRT’s first production “Side By Side BY Sondheim” debuted at the Alta Loma High School Theater, featuring local celebrity Nedra Volz. The IVRT also performed at Chaffey College, Claremont High School, Upland Elementary School, the Claremont School of Theology and the University of La Verne before finding a permanent home at the Candlelight Pavilion in Claremont.
The IVRT is a company of actors who are members of the IVRT whom act in and/or help with the shows throughout the season. IVRT shares the stage with producers of the Candelight Pavillion, in association with Ben Bollinger productions, and collaborates with the Pavillion before setting a definitive season of plays. Once the play is established, the artistic directors get to work on creating a realistic set that is conducive to the Pavillion. Once all is in place, the artistic team makes final preparations, directors are hired, audtions are announced, and the season goes on sale.
Since it’s inception, IVRT has become a critically acclaimed regional theatre company, garnering widespread honors for its theatrical works. IVRT was recently awarded a prestigious grant from the Los Angeles County Arts Commission to continue its mission of presenting high quality local theatrical productions to promote the talents of aspiring actors of all ages.
The IVRT epitomizes the fostering of community growth within the arts and recruiting local talent to bring about premiere productions.
