We are not the “I.E.”

May I bend your ear for a rant? A very superficial geographic location rant? It will be short and sweet. I promise.

I would like to stand on my own roof and shout,  “WE ARE NOT THE INLAND EMPIRE!”.

Shall we list the cities? WE SHALL!

It’s as plain as day on a map. We are not the “I.E.”. We are the East San Gabriel Valley.  Why is it so important? Well, let’s be real here. There are negative stigmas that lie within the Inland Empire classification. Claremont, La Verne, Pomona and San Dimas are mistakenly plagued with the I.E. identity far too often. Quite frankly, it’s annoying. If you want to get really technical, the aforementioned cities are considered part of the Pomona Valley, which is properly considered part of the San Gabriel Valley. So guess what? History, maps and basic geography skills will show the entire world that we are NOT in the Inland Empire. We are part of the San Gabriel Valley, and our eastward location has given us an identity all of our own! That is part of my main mission with 30mileseast.com. I want to show the world that we are very much a significant part of Los Angeles county, and we have so much to offer!
